Tom's 10th Anniversary of Organ Donation

Tom died on the 9th December 2015. He donated organs and saved multiple live on the 10th December 2015. There are lots of things going on to commemorate this date.

Tom Wilson

Tom ‘Willow’ Wilson, aged 22, died on the 9th of December 2015, after a training ground accident at his Hockey club Old Loughtonians. He suffered a traumatic subarachnoid brain haemorrhage after a blow to the head by a stick.

As the family considered organ donation they were informed he signed up as a fresher at Nottingham Trent University, allowing Tom to selflessly donate his organs and tissue to help save and transform the lives of up to 50 people. His teammates who performed CPR helped save Tom’s organs enabling him to give the ultimate gift of life.

The Tom Wilson Memorial Fund was set up to raise money for various donor organisations, concussion research and England Hockey related sporting charities.

All money raised will go to the fund, any donation would be greatly appreciated.

Hockey Family: Wearing Pink For Tom

Thank you to Havering Hockey Club:

“Wearing pink for Tom”
On a night when Campion flooded – Havering remembered ❤

This December marks ten years since we lost Tom, from Hornchurch, who tragically passed away during the final training session before the Christmas break. In honour of his memory, we invite everyone to wear pink – the colour that represents organ donation – during the week of 8th December. By wearing pink, we not only remember Tom but also help shine a light on the life-saving power of organ donation.

Thanks to the quick actions of his teammates at @oldloughtshc, who immediately administered CPR, Tom was able to become an organ donor and give the gift of life to others. We hope that by sharing his story, this message reaches far and wide, sparking conversations across our community and beyond. Please spread the word & send us your team pics! 💕

With love,

The Wilson Family
