“Thank you all”
A massive thank you to The Tom Wilson’s memorial fund for a truly unforgettable and inspirational opportunity for funding me to my first World Transplant Games in Dresden in August 2025.
It was a big experience for me in participating in this Game, making new transplant friends and knowing each person’s hardship where each one of the transplant recipients has to get through. It is a game where, regardless of our differences from a normal person we can show that we are still here in having a second chance in LIFE and participating in sports.
I participated in table tennis (singles, doubles and mixed doubles). I did not win any medals but by being able to participate it made me feel that I have won more than any medals can provide.
It was a joy to see people from many countries who had had transplants taking part in so many sports events. There were people from all over the world working hard to show how transformed their lives have been after they received the gift of life. I thank my sponsors, Lisa and all the organisers, the volunteers who made it a success .
It is a precious gift from Tom that has given me the motivation, desire and confidence to participate in Transplant games and I DID IT FOR TOM.
